How Often Should I Have a Sports Massage?

The more you train, the more you should receive a massage. However everyone is different and you will need to discuss with your therapist what would work best for you. If an injury occurs the quantity of massage or treatment will normally increase until the injury is resolved.

One sports massage may have a short-term effect but regular massage can have a cumulative benefit. Areas of tightness that you were not aware of may be identified preventing possible injury thus sports massage can be thought of as a preventative or maintenance treatment.

Pre & Post Event Massage

You will want to schedule a pre-event or race massage 3-5 days before the event as you may feel sore or tender after the treatment. Post-event massages can also be timed between 3-5 days after the event to allow any soreness to dissipate first.
